WRITE IN SCENES rather than word count so you can explore what could happen to a logical conclusion rather than word count. Anatomy of a scene:

  1. A scene begins and ends in the same location and takes the POV of one character.
  2. A scene starts with one emotion and ends with the opposite.
  3. Something HAS TO HAPPEN involving tension of some kind in every scene. New information is revealed – NO GOING BACK.
